It is important to understand how music affects people because music is all around, people's preferences in music tend to define a little of who they are, where they come from and how they feel in particular. Even though metal fans' personality is not similar to songs with the word death in the lyrics, they listen to heavy metal music as a way to deal with life in their own way. It is important to take into account all studies conducted, most concluded that metal music in fact does react with the brain and cognition to help factor in why certain metal fans behave a certain way and why they listen to certain bands rather than others. It can cause higher aggression in males and affect college females to increase body temperature just from listening to it. The psychology behind this idea proves that the brain knows exactly how to react to violent lyrics and heavy music, causing the body to react in a way to release what it is taking in. Even though it affects the brain in this way, metal music also helps adolescents have a group of people who can relate to them.
